NBAA Local and Regional Group Committee

The Local and Regional Group Committee focuses on the ability to serve as a source of information to advocate for the industry to our members and the public in partnership with the many local and regional groups throughout the country. Through enhanced communication, committee commitment and team effort, the goal is to provide the Local and Regional Group network a means of sharing resources and ideas to enable all groups to be more effective in advocacy and industry operational performance. While working with the support of the NBAA, the subcommittee will strengthen open communication between the organizations and provide additional networking opportunities.

Goals

• Establishing a means of best communication practices to advocate for the industry by partnering with the local and regional groups
• Creating a cohesive and positive team effort of members and other standing committees
• Successful execution of the Regional Leadership Roundtable establishing best communication practices to advocate for the industry by partnering with the local and regional groups

Recognition of Outstanding Excellence by a Local or Regional Group – The NBAA Recognition of Outstanding Excellence by a Local or Regional Group originates from the Local and Regional Group Committee as acknowledgement of outstanding excellence resulting from performance in one or more categories of achievement.

Regional Business Aviation Groups Directory – Regional business aviation organizations facilitate both regional and nationwide communication among business aviation professionals. This web-based directory provides information on many regional groups, including scheduler and dispatcher groups.

Regional Business Aviation Groups Library – Among their many benefits, regional business aviation groups offer events and programs that foster communication with local communities about the importance of airports and of business aviation. This online library contains documents and sample templates to help guide your regional group in creating its own career fair, safety day, scholarship program or other event.

Guidelines for Business Aviation Regional Groups – Provided in downloadable PDF format, this useful publication is designed to guide the creation of new regional business aviation group and to help existing regional groups improve procedures and grow.

Upcoming Regional Events – NBAA helps promote regional business aviation group meetings, including local safety days, advocacy days and fundraisers, held nationwide throughout the year.

Airports Handbook – Newly updated in 2013, this long-time NBAA publication makes a compelling case for the importance of airports and their economic and social contributions to surrounding communities and the nation. It was written specifically for the “non-aviator” and is an ideal resource for NBAA Members to give to elected officials, civic organizations, the news media and others who would benefit from the up-to-date, persuasive information on such topics as economic impact, noise, safety and environmental considerations.

Airport Advocate Guide – Created in 2013 as a companion to the Airports Handbook, NBAA’s Airport Advocate Guide provides step-by-step guidance for those who wish to advocate for their local general aviation airport. The booklet contains a wealth of information about how to organize and build community support for your airport, how to work with the news media, and how to find or even calculate the economic value of the airport to your region.
